We started working with Alexandra after my 90 year old client had a stroke that affected his speech. Since he has Alzheimers, we had concerns whether he would be able to relate to someone on a computer screen, but Alexandra was able to put him at ease right from the beginning. His speech has remarkably improved in such a short time. Alexandra brings a balance of deep professionalism and her fun personality to each session. I highly recommend her.

K.W., New Rochelle, NY

Alex's technique, warmth and interest in getting to know my son's interests worked wonders in the therapy sessions.  In a short time period my son blossomed with Alex.  He was pointing and speaking more. I loved her notes and homework suggestions at the end of each session.  We incorporated them into our daily routines.  Alex is a great therapist and was the best choice for us.  We greatly recommend her.

A.C. Brooklyn, NY

Alex has been my son James' speech therapist for close to 2 years. Alex is the most honest, passionate, educated, devoted and trustworthy speech therapist and has truly played an instrumental role in my son's language development. Even during these uncertain times, Alex has managed to make our virtual zoom sessions engaging and productive through themed sessions and creative zoom backgrounds.

Alex has always gone above and beyond our therapy sessions to ensure that family members are educated with the tools needed to help implement language exercises into James' everyday routine. My family and I feel honored to have gotten the chance to work with Alex, she is one of a kind!

This was a very special and meaningful workshop (How to Support your Child’s Language Development at Home) provided by Alex from AKP Speech Therapy. The workshop was engaging and Alex designed it well to suit the needs of beginner parents who have little experience on how to promote language development at home through play. She gave practical and vivid examples. We received great feedback from parents after the workshop. On behalf of my team and the parents in Wuhan during lockdown due to the coronavirus, we want to send our sincere appreciation to Alex for her time and support.

Alexandra Princiotta Lowe, MA CCC-SLP

Alex received her Master of Arts degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from St. John’s University. She is a certified SLP licensed to practice in New York, California, and Florida; and she holds her Certificate of Clinical Competence from The American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA). She works with young children (0-7) and adults. Alex works on feeding and language skills with her younger clients. She also specializes in fluency, apraxia of speech and aphasia. Prior to this, Alex provided speech language therapy to children on the autism spectrum; and accent modification in Barcelona, Spain. She started her career working as a school based SLP, creating and teaching social skill classes for adolescents.

Alex provides therapy in both English and Spanish. She is both PROMPT (Prompts for Restructuring Oral Muscular Phonetic Targets) trained and trained in DTTC (dynamic temporal and tactile cueing) for treating children with apraxia and articulation disorders. When treating individuals with sensory processing disorders and feeding delays, Alex follows the SOS (Sequential Oral Sensory) approach to feeding therapy.

Aside from speech therapy, Alex has experience working with typically developing children, having taught English to toddlers in Spain and used dance in toddler development for over 10 years. These experiences have helped craft Alex’s approach as a therapist as she is able to benchmark against the speech and language milestones of typically developing children. It is important for speech pathologists to understand the progression of typical developing children so that they can assess and set appropriate goals for therapy.
